Jessica Peternelj-Monea, M.A.

Executive Director
Licensed Profession Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation, Certified Nonprofit Professional 

Jessica graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green State University in 2014, a CACREP accredited program. After graduate school, Jessica began her career in mental health counseling as a trauma focused counselor for youth, then accepted a position as an LPC at residential drug and alcohol treatment facility, where she gained licensure advancements over the course of six years.

Overseeing daily operations of all staff and programming agency-wide, she performs a range of duties that ensure appropriate adherence to behavioral health standards of practice and care. Her roles include: leadership, supervision, design and implementation of programming, and development of effective communication processes to bolster interdepartmental performance and service. Jessica is responsible for maintaining and creating relationships with stakeholders and funding sources. With a growth-minded ethos and passion for behavioral health and addiction counseling, Jessica plays a central role in our agency’s future.

Chrissy Walter, M. Ed.

Clinical Director
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisor Designation

Chrissy is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory designation (LPCC-S) and serves as the Clinical Director at Stark County TASC. With extensive experience in mental health and substance use disorder treatment, Chrissy has worked in diverse settings including residential treatment facilities, outpatient therapy, community mental health centers, and higher education at Kent State University. She has also held leadership roles such as Program Manager, developing strong supervisory and managerial expertise.

Chrissy’s clinical background includes working with individuals facing substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and severe persistent mental health disorders. Known for her genuine approach, she quickly establishes rapport, communicates clearly, and leads with empathy. She is a steadfast advocate for doing what’s right and is passionate about helping others uncover and rediscover their strengths—an ethos she brings to her role as Clinical Director.

A true “people person,” Chrissy’s life’s work centers on learning about others and fostering their growth. Outside of work, she is an avid Cleveland sports fan, enjoys cooking and baking, loves music, film, and the arts, and cherishes time spent with friends and family

Melissa Laskovski

Director of Business Operations

Melissa graduated from Malone University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. She also completed two years of Nursing school and holds a Medical Assisting degree. She has been in the Business and Healthcare field for over 24 years. She is involved in several committees throughout Stark County including the Opiate Addiction Task Force, Drug Free Stark County Coalition, The Legacy Project of Stark County and the Love Thy Neighbor Mission at St George Serbian Church.

Her job duties include all office management functions, human resource management, finance management, supervision of our front clerical staff, and assisting in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.

When she is not working, she enjoys reading, cooking, vacationing, giving back to the community and spending time with family and friends.

Melissa Saunders, CPRS

Melissa began working at Stark County TASC in 2021. She has obtained an Associate’s degree in Business Management with a focus on Human Resources and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Social Work at The Ohio State University. 

With 8 years of experience in the recovery field, Melissa leads a team of peer recovery specialists dedicated to providing compassionate, effective support for individuals on their recovery journey. Her work spans the criminal justice court system and hospital settings, bridging critical gaps in care and connecting individuals to the resources they need.

Melissa combines strong leadership skills with a deep understanding of human connection. Driven by the belief that everyone deserves to feel valued and supported, Melissa is passionate about being a voice for those who may not feel heard. 

With expertise in staff leadership and program coordination, Melissa fosters a collaborative environment that empowers both team members and clients. Her work focuses on building strong community connections and maintaining the highest standards of care.
